چکیده

Detailed understanding of the complexities of flow and in biological materials is essential for the design, development, and optimization of MRI protocols for medical and biomedical applications. However, the design of such processes resort to trial and error, because the mathematics and physics of most experimental techniques are fundamentally limited. In this study, we develop a new magnetic resonance imaging sequence based on Bloch NMR flow equation and Bessel functions for detailed computational and experimental studies to improve health care.

Exploring new dimensions in cardiovascular flow and motion: application of Bloch NMR flow equations, Bessel and spherical harmonic functions

Biological tissues are complex system that contains a variety of liquid components, macromolecules and ions. They are highly heterogeneous media that consist of various compartments and barriers of different diffusivities. In terms of its cyto-histologic architecture, a tissue can be regarded as a porous structure made up of a set of more or less connected compartments in a network like arrange...

A Parametrical Finite Element Formulation of the Bloch-Torrey Equation for NMR Applications

We present a finite element formulation of the full Bloch-Torrey equation for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) applications. We obtained parametrical expressions that allow us to compute the involved matrices in a simple and fast way for any spatial convergence order. The framework here proposed is valid for many problems related to MR, as diffusion and perfusion MRI.

Fractional Calculus in NMR

Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is a physical phenomenon widely used to study complex materials. NMR is governed by the Bloch equation, a first order non-linear differential equation. Fractional order generalization of the Bloch equation provides an opportunity to extend its use to describe a wider range of experimental situations. Here we present a fractional generalization of the Bloch equat...

Analytical determination of the chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) contrast in molecular magnetic resonance imaging

Magnetic resonance based on molecular imaging allows tracing contrast agents thereby facilitating early diagnosis of diseases in a non-invasive fashion that enhances the soft tissue with high spatial resolution. Recently, the exchange of protons between the contrast agent and water, known as the chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) effect, has been measured by applying a suitable pulse ...

Numerical simulation of the fractional Bloch equations

In physics and chemistry, specifically in NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) or MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), or ESR (electron spin resonance) the Bloch equations are a set of macroscopic equations that are used to calculate the nuclear magnetization M = (Mx,My,Mz) as a function of time when relaxation times T1 and T2 are present. Recently, some fractional models have been proposed for the Bl...
